Golden Boy Promotions' CEO, Richard Schaefer, on Tuesday denied reports in an English newspaper that his executive matchmaker, Roberto Diaz, has offered ex-champion, Ricky Hatton, a shot at former titlist and Golden Boy Promotions President, Oscar De La Hoya (pictured above, center), in a clash of retired fighters.
The 32-year-old Hatton (45-2, 32 knockouts) has not been in the ring since May of 2009, when he was stopped in the second-round by Manny Pacquiao (52-3-2, 38 KOs) in a junior welterweight (140 pounds) clash.
The 37-year-old De La Hoya (39-6, 30 KOs) was last in the ring for an eighth-round stoppage loss to Pacquiao in December of 2008 welterweight (147 pounds) bout.
