On Saturday night on HBO, WBO and WBA lightweight (135 pounds) champion Juan Manuel Marquez (52-5-1, 38 knockouts) rose from a third-round knockdown to score a ninth-round stoppage over WBO interim king Michael Katsidis (27-3, 22 KOs).

It was trademark Marquez, who was floored four times over the course of two bouts with eight-division king, Manny Pacquiao (52-3-2, 38 KOs). Pacquiao dropped Marquez three times in the first round of a May, 2004 draw, and, once, in the second round of a March, 2008, disputed, split-decision victory over Marquez.

Marquez, who is promoted by Golden Boy Promotions, wants to make a third bout with Pacquiao, who is promoted by Top Rank Promotions and is the current holder of the WBO welterweight (147 pounds) and WBC junior middleweight (154 pounds) crowns.

FanHouse spoke to Marquez following his win over Katsidis.
