TNT Garners 5.0 Overnight Rating for LeBron's Return

TNT's coverage of LeBron James' eventually triumphant and heavily hyped return to Cleveland Thursday posted the channel's second-highest overnight rating of the 2010-11 season.

TNT reported Friday that the Miami Heat-Cleveland Cavaliers game garnered a 5.0 overnight rating. Only the channel's coverage of the Boston Celtics-Miami Heat game on Opening Night, which got a 5.6 rating, was higher. The ratings for Thursday's game peaked in the first 30 minutes of the telecast, getting a 6.7 in the 8:15-8:30 quarter-hour, following a 5.9 for the 8-8:15 pregame show.

The NBA game's rating beat out those for the NFL Network's coverage of the Philadelphia Eagles-Houston Texans game, which got a 4.1, though it's worth noting that TNT is in significantly more homes than the NFL Network.
