Manny Ramirez in pinstripes? Say it ain't so! Well, it almost certainly ain't, but at least the sports-talk radio hosts in New York (and Boston) will have something to feed the masses on Christmas Eve after Jack Curry of YES reported the Yankees have had internal discussions about signing Ramirez.
Hey, New York would like a right-handed-hitting outfielder, and Ramirez qualifies there, so Yankees execs were merely doing their due diligence in talking amongst themselves about the enigmatic slugger. Curry himself made that point in a follow-up tweet -- as if he couldn't have predicted the frenzy that would follow the initial report -- further downplaying the chances of Ramirez actually wearing the home whites in the Bronx next year.
