Tiger Woods may still not be happy with his putting, but he can at least air his frustrations from the top of the leader board at the Chevron World Challenge after carding a 65 for his opening round.Playing his final tournament of a winless 2010, Woods feels he is starting to hit some form and proved it with a 65 in his final round in the Australian Open last week.
Now he has followed that up with a blistering performance in the Chevron event, with eight birdies - and a bogey at the last at the Sherwood Country Club in California - leaving him seven under par and a shot clear of Graeme McDowell and Rory McIlroy.
It is the first time he has been at the top of a leaderboard for more than a year and, such was the quality of his ball striking, it could have been even better.
In perfect conditions, Woods hit all but two greens in regulation and had four putts for eagles, with the only blemish coming on the 18th when he scooped a three wood off the tee and had to hack out before two-putting for a bogey.
