Bet on Carlos Tevez to Stay at Manchester City - Who Else Could Afford Him?

Carlos TevezCarlos Tevez must be one difficult man to manage. The only thing you suspect that might make manager Roberto Mancini's dealings with the irascible Argie even more complicated is if it came to light that the wantaneck striker was involved in a sex scandal.

That seems pretty unlikely, Tevez hasn't mastered enough of the language to complete even the most basic of transactions with a hooker. And hookers always like to get the money part of the equation out of the way first. I say that as a man who has never paid for sex in his life, which admittedly has enraged some of the prostitutes I've slept with. Until a few weeks ago Ryan Giggs had a reputation as a family man. He still does, he has just stretched the definition to its limit. And then some. So far he's had one girl from Big Brother and one from little brother.

But back to our Carlos, who is forever bemoaning his lot despite having a lot more than most.
The hard-to-please Tevez is desperate to move to a club that is nearer his two kids. Poppy and the other one. It's a well-known fact that Madrid is only 6,000 miles from Argentina whereas Manchester to Argentina is a whopping 7,000 miles.

No club in South America could afford to match Tevez's wage demands, indeed only Barcelona, Real Madrid or perhaps Chelsea would even contemplate bankrolling the bumptious bundle of enigmatic energy that is Carlos Tevez. The obvious compromise would see him farmed out to Cardiff City on loan.

Meanwhile, City sources were quick to rubbish reports of an astronomical £160 million bid for Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo.

They said their top offer would be £159 million plus Edin Dzeko. Bet365 offer 7-1 about Ronaldo becoming a City player next season.

In his most recent TV interview in Argentina, Tevez was hardly complimentary about his life in Manchester, suggesting there are only two restaurants in the city.

Apparently there is one authentic Spanish restaurant on the outskirts of Manchester, the waiters bring you a glass of water and then warn you not to drink it.

Is it just me or is it practically impossible to get a clean glass anywhere these days?

I suffer from CDO, it's the same as OCD, but the letters are arranged alphabetically as they should be. I went for a meal with a pal a while ago. I said to the waiter, "please make sure I have a clean glass, the one I had last week was filthy." A few minutes later the waiter returned and set out the food, and asked, "And which one of you ordered a clean glass?"

Should Tevez leave City the club would be left with Emmanuel Adebayor, who is reportedly just as keen to depart, Edwin Dzeko and Mario Balotelli.

The Italian suffers from bouts of sulkiness himself while Dzeko has yet to adapt to the English game, especially the scoring part of it.

Tevez claims to deal only with the club's owner, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and that is to his credit. He can't grasp the basic rudiments of the English language yet he can pronounce the Sheikh's name.

What is clear is that Tevez has shown no respect to manager Mancini and that his position as club captain is untenable.

Having said that, City need him and appear to be happy to pander to his growing demands on a daily basis. On that foundation alone the odds against that Tevez is still a City player by the end of the transfer window are more than tempting.

Remember that even if the Manchester moaner is farmed out on loan he is still a City player. So for the bet to be scuppered he'd have to be bought by the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea or Swansea. That would seem unlikely when they could take him on loan, meaning they wouldn't need to fork out an additional £50 million.

In reality, who could afford to throw £50 million at Tevez as well as £250,000 a week? And even if you did invest that huge sum of money you would have no guarantee at some point in the future he would refuse to play for the team and swan off to South America.
