It is six years since Manchester United's fans regularly chanted 'Keano' around Old Trafford.Seven-times Premier League winner Roy Keane is long gone, but the famous surname is back on the lips of United's followers thanks to Will Keane's terrific FA Youth Cup final performance.
A day after Sir Alex Ferguson's senior side collected a record 19th league title, Keane scored twice as United became the first club to lift the FA Youth Cup 10 times after beating Sheffield United 4-1 to seal a 6-3 final win on aggregate.
Ferguson was in the stands to witness the historic triumph and the United manager cannot have failed to have been impressed by the 18-year-old striker's performance.
Having signed schoolboy scholarship terms with United in March 2009, along with his twin brother Michael, Will has made impressive progress.
He was part of the Milk Cup-winning squad in 2009 and has since gone on to sign professional forms after following in the footsteps of Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Phil Neville by winning United's coveted Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year award for the 2009-10 season.
"I've supported United all my life so I'm honoured," said Stockport-born Keane on receiving the award.
The frequency with which he has found the net - he also scored a hat-trick in the FA Youth Cup semi-final victory over Chelsea - and his style of play has drawn comparisons with United legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but even more so with Teddy Sheringham.
But it is Wayne Rooney who is the biggest influence on his career.
"There's nothing I'd rather do than be a professional footballer," added Keane. "I would love to be able to win the Premiership.
"When you train it's great to see the United players like Rooney on the next pitch, they are all so good."
