Yet another new contract has been signed at Liverpool. But while the much improved Lucas Leiva's decision to pledge his long term future is undoubtedly positive news, supporters remain in the dark as to whether Kenny Dalglish will pen a new deal to be manager next season.
Dirk Kuyt is also close to confirming his long term stay while there has even been a recent reshuffle behind the scenes, with Ian Ayre signing a contract to become the new managing director and Damien Comolli appointed director of football - a step up from his position as director of football strategy.
But owner John Henry has still to utter the words Liverpool's followers are desperate to hear - that King Kenny is staying.
The international break would have been the perfect time for Henry to announce that Liverpool had secured Dalglish's services for the long term ahead of this weekend's reunion with Roy Hodgson at West Brom.
Since taking over from Hodgson in January, with the club anchored in the bottom half of the table, Dalglish has steered Liverpool to six wins in 10 league games.
Should game No. 11 end in another triumph on Saturday, Dalglish will have masterminded as many Premier League victories as Hodgson managed during 20 league games in charge at the club.
It is statistics like that why fans want the board to pull out all the stops to ensure Dalglish is in charge for the long term.
Yet the silence within Anfield regarding Dalglish is deafening.
The positive impact the Anfield icon has had on his beloved club since he abandoned a cruise to take over from Hodgson is well documented.
So why the delay regarding a new contract?
It is a question fans hope they are not asking for much longer.
In the meantime they are left to digest the news that Lucas, who was linked with a move to West Ham earlier in the season as part of a player exchange with Carlton Cole, wants to spend the best years of his career at the club.
