Team of the Week: Close but no Cigar for 50 Million-a-goal Man Fernando Torres

Fernando Torres celebrates his first goal for ChelseaWe don't hand out places in the coveted FanHouse Premier League Team of the week willy-nilly. So despite hogging the headlines and sparking the sale of thousands of t-shirts emblazoned with 'I was there' on the front after finally breaking his Chelsea goal duck, Fernando Torres can forget any hope of his first selection in our coveted side since his £50 million move to Stamford Bridge.

Instead, it's a Blues forward who failed to score and who made way for Torres, but who again stood out in the comprehensive 3-0 victory over West Ham who helps lead the line on this occasion.

Didier Drogba takes his regular place in our line-up for the way he hammered Avram Grant's rock-bottom troops into submission to allow the Spaniard to end his 731-minute wait to return to the scoresheet. If you'd have kept that drought under 700 minutes, Fernando, you might have had a chance with us, but keep trying, no doubt your time will come.

Having narrowly edged out Javier Hernandez, whose 19th goal of the season put Manchester United on the verge of the title, and the again-impressive on-loan Bolton forward Daniel Sturridge, Drogba is partnered up front by another prolific appearance holder in our weekly gongs in Darren Bent.
