Snooker: 'I Feel Invincible' - Judd Trump's Warning for His Crucible Rivals

Judd TrumpSo, we're down to the last four, and it's going to be a World Championship rookie against a Crucible old-stager for the right to be crowned the planet's best snooker player.

To put the gulf in experience into perspective, John Higgins and Mark Williams, who contest the second semi-final over the best of 33 frames, have between them claimed the title in Sheffield five times, three to the Scot, two for the Welshman.

Contrast that with Ding Junhui and Judd Trump, who, coming into this year's championship had won a grand total of three matches between them at the Crucible, all by the Chinese, who had not until now been beyond the second round.

It promises to make for a fascinating final, but first the four must be whittled down to two, with the 'youngsters' launching the cabaret on April 28 over a possible four sessions on the single-table scenario reserved for the latter stages of the tournament.

"I feel invincible now and that's a good feeling to have," Trump insisted. Perhaps it's the exuberance of youth, but the 21-year-old doesn't seem to do under-statement. In fairness, so far his increasingly bold words haven't come back to haunt him, and he is backing up the hyperbole with deeds, as Graeme Dott, swept aside 13-5 in the last eight, will vouch for.

Trump, still oozing confidence from his first ranking title win in the China Open on the eve of Sheffield, added: "Anyone left could beat me 13-3 or 13-4 as the standard is so good, but I could also do the same to the rest of the players. I'm keeping focused and not getting carried away but I'm getting closer.
