Kevin Na's Public Humiliation Shows that Even the Pros Are Human (Video)

Filed under:

Kevin NaIt was the noise that will be heard around a thousand golf courses in the United Kingdom this weekend but the rustling, thwacking and grumbling was Kevin Na on the way to a 16 on a par four on the PGA Tour.

Na still managed to finish on a creditable eight over par for his round, despite racking up the highest-ever score on a par four hole in PGA Tour history on the ninth hole in San Antonio.

The drama was made all the more bizarre as Na was miked up by the Golf Channel throughout the hole to forget.

His first tee-shot led to an unplayable lie so he headed back to the tee, only to put his second drive into the same place.

Ignoring the advice of his caddie, Na tried to hack out on to the fairway only to feel the ball rebound on to his leg and he called another penalty on himself.

There followed an awkward couple of minutes of Na believing that, yes this time he was going to blast the ball out of trouble as he rattled his ball off trees with twigs and branches flying all over the place.

And at his sixth attempt, with a couple of left-handed efforts, he finally got the ball out into the open with his 13th shot of the hole - 12 more than if he had hit his first drive straight.

After hitting an iron shot he wandered up to the green his conversation with his caddie suggested he was grateful the incident had been filmed as it was the only way he would have any idea how many shots he had taken.

Two putts later and he walked towards the 10th with a 16, which had golf coming up with the phrase 'Duodecuple bogey'.
