Jonny Flynn Reassigned to NBA D-League's Sioux Falls Skyforce

The Minnesota Timberwolves announced Wednesday that they have re-assigned point guard Jonny Flynn to the NBA Development League's Sioux Falls Skyforce, his second tour of duty in the D-League in less than a week.

Flynn, the sixth overall selection in the 2009 NBA Draft, will test out his surgically-repaired hip this weekend in a pair of games against the Tulsa 66ers. Timberwolves head coach Kurt Rambis told reporters earlier this week that he would like to see Flynn in a back-to-back situation before re-inserting the second-year point guard into the starting lineup.

In Flynn's first D-League assignment, a rehab stint that could have been the most important in D-League history, the plan was to play in six-to-eight minute stints totaling 30-35 minutes of playing time in his first game back from offseason hip surgery, but that plan was derailed when he suffered cramping that held him out for the fourth quarter. Flynn was still able to impact the box score in his 24 minutes of action, though, dishing a team-high nine assists to go with eight points and two steals, though the 6-foot-point guard did turn the ball over six times.
