World No. 1 Novak Djokovic cruised into the last four of the Montreal Masters after dropping just three games against Gael Monfils of France.The Serb made it win number 51 in 2011 with a 6-2 6-1 victory in just 73 minutes and he will now face Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.
Frenchman Tsonga, who ended Roger Federer's involvement in the Rogers Cup tournament, edged out eighth seed Nicolas Almagro 6-4 6-4.
He faces his sternest test yet against Djokovic, though, with the top seed having been beaten just once, by Federer at the French Open, in 2011.
Eighth seed Mardy Fish claimed a 6-3 6-7 (8) 6-0 victory over Switzerland's Stanislas Wawrinka.
A semi-final with unseeded Janko Tipsarevic, who beat Tomas Berdych, awaits with the Serb now guaranteed a place ion the world's top 20 for the first time in his career.
Meanwhile, Andy Murray and Jamie Murray crashed out of the doubles with a 6-4 6-4 loss0 to Germany's Florian Mayer and Czech Tomas Berdych.
