European players may be grabbing all the headlines as they continue to scale the world rankings, but South African golf is also in good health.Last year, five European Tour events were won by golfers from South Africa, notably Louis Oosthuizen's victory at the Open, while Ernie Els won the WGC Cadillac Championship at Doral, which he will attempt to retain this week.
The name of Charl Schwartzel also appeared frequently on leaderboards as he looked to add to the Africa Open and the Joburg Open titles he won in 2010.
The 26-year-old, who finished in eighth place in the Race to Dubai last year - one spot behind Els - also posted respectable finishes at all four majors.
This year he has already retained his Joburg Open title and recorded another four top-10 finishes.
His game looks in good shape and he is hoping to add to his growing reputation this week at the WGC Cadillac Championship as he eases himself into life on the PGA Tour.
