How Ugo Monye Handles the Pressure While Waiting for World Cup Verdict

The agonising wait continues for those players who can still dream of figuring in England's World Cup plans in New Zealand.

The squad has been whittled down to 40 by coach Martin Johnson, who has ended the hopes of Joe Worsley, David Strettle, James Simpson-Daniel, George Chuter and Thomas Waldrom.

Ten more will be ruled out by Johnson following this month's warm-up friendlies, which start with Saturday's game against Wales.

And Harlequins winger Ugo Monye, among those who don't know if they will be heading for New Zealand, has revealed how he is coping with the pressure.

Monye told the London Evening Standard:"You do wonder about how the final squad will be made up and all I can do is focus on my training and leave the big decisions to the coaches. It could drive you crazy and be a distraction."
