Injury Scare For Andy Murray But He Should Be Fit for French Open Bid

Andy MurrayAndy Murray's preparations for the French Open have been hit by an injury scare - but the British No. 1 should still be fit to compete at Roland Garros.

The Scot is believed to have strained his groin in training, prompting him to withdraw from a scheduled exhibition match in Paris on Thursday, although the problem is not thought to be serious.

Murray, the world No. 4, who was set to face France's Michael Llodra in the Guinot Mary Cohr Masters at the Paris Country Club, however he has opted to pull out as a precautionary measure.

A statement from tournament organisers read: "Andy has withdrawn from the Masters Guinot Mary Cohr today as a precaution after sustaining a minor injury whilst training this morning.

"Andy would like to apologise to the fans and sponsors but hopes to play in the Masters Guinot Mary Cohr once again next year."

The 24-year-old will now undergo further treatment at his hotel on Thursday evening ahead of Friday's draw for the second Grand Slam tournament of the year.
