When pitchers and catchers reported to Dodgers camp Wednesday, relief pitcher Ronald Belisario was noticeably absent. The reason appears to be a bit of a mystery, too. He's not injured. The last two years, he had visa issues in terms of coming to work in the United States from his native Venezuela. This season, however, it seems to be a bit more serious.
Paul Kinzer, Belisario's agent, told the Los Angeles Times that Belisario's problems go "deeper" than visa problems and that the pitcher would likely not be able to get into the country at all for the entire 2011 season.
"Unless some things change drastically, I'm not very optimistic at this point," Kinzer told the Times.
