Winky Wright Eyes Sergio Martinez, Fights Matthew Macklin

Golden Boy Promotions' southpaw former world champion Winky Wright will end a nearly two-year ring absence on April 9 when the 39-year-old meets middleweight (160 pounds) Matthew Macklin on the under card of a main event matching three-division champion Erik Morales and former WBA junior welterweight (140 pounds) king Marcos Rene Maidana.

A loser of his past two fights, respectively, in July of 2007, and, April of 2009, to former undisputed middleweight king Bernard Hopkins (51-5-2, 32 knockouts), and, three-time titlist, Paul Williams (39-2, 27 KOs), Wright (51-5-1, 25 KOs) owns two victories over three-division, five-time champion, Shane Mosley (46-6-1, 39 KOs) and told FanHouse that he would like to face southpaw former WBC and WBO middleweight king Sergio Martinez.
