Amir Khan-Paul McCloskey Done, Andre Berto-Victor Ortiz Close

Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer has informed FanHouse that WBA junior welterweight (140 pounds) king Amir Khan of England will meet Northern Ireland's unbeaten southpaw Paul McCloskey in an HBO televised clash from the MEN Arena on April 16 in England.

The 31-year-old McCloskey (22-0, 12 knockouts) was chosen over fellow contenders, Lamont Peterson (28-1-1, 14 KOs), of Washington, D.C., and fellow Englishman John Murray (30-0, 18 KOs).

The 24-year-old Khan (24-1, 17 KOs) is coming off of a Dec. 11 unanimous decision victory over hard-punching, WBA interim champion Marcos Rene Maidana (29-2, 27 KOs) of Argentina, in the Boxing Writers Associationn Fight of the Year.

McCloskey has scored five consecutive knockouts, including October's seventh-round knockout of Barry Morrison.
