Roger Federer Coasts in First Round of Australian Open

Defending champion Roger Federer defeated unseeded Lukas Lacko 6-1, 6-1, 6-3 in the first round of the Australian Open on Monday. It only took the 16-time Grand Slam champion 84 minutes to cruise by Lacko.

The second-seeded Federer dominated play from the outset, and Lacko never gained any type of momentum in his first career match against the four-time Australian Open champion. Behind impressive serving, ferocious groundstrokes and crafty play at net, Federer won 91 total points to Lacko's 51. Federer generated 37 winners, while the Slovakian only mustered 11.
