Victor Cayo Wants to Rematch Marcos Rene Maidana

Junior welterweight (140 pounds) contender Victor Cayo (28-1, 20 knockouts) of the Dominican Republic has scored knockouts in the second and first rounds, respectively, since, himself, being stopped in the sixth round in March by then-WBA interim titlist Marcos Rene Maidana (29-2, 27 KOs).

On Dec. 11, Maidana rose from a first-round knockdown and nearly stopped his opponent in the 10th round of their HBO televised, Golden Boy Promotions bout before losing a unanimous decision to WBA king Amir Khan (24-1, 17 KOs).

FanHouse caught up to Cayo during his training at the World Crown Sports Center in Oxnard, Calif., where he worked alongside southpaw former WBC middleweight (160 pounds) king Sergio Martinez.

Cayo shed his thoughts on Maidana, as well as rising lightweight (135 pounds) contender Brandon Rios..
