There are a lot of reasons why Oregon will beat Auburn in Monday night's BCS Championship Game. Some will even make sense to all you heathen out there.
For starters, the Ducks have a better defense. Oregon can't stop Cam Newton, but it can hold him under his usual 218 yards rushing, 589 yards passing and 12 touchdowns. Since Oregon is going to score on every possession, that should be enough to give the Ducks their first championship in a sport people care about.
There are other facts in Oregon's favor, like Heisman winners traditionally stinking up BCS Championship games. The Ducks also have 782 more uniform combinations, so Chip Kelly might show up dressed as Captain James T. Kirk. And in the crucial EA simulated game, Oregon won, 45-41.
In that computer showdown, Newton passed for 293 yards and rushed 116. His father then simulated selling Cam at a Starkville, Miss., pawn shop for $500,000. Which brings us to the main reason Auburn will not beat Oregon.
God will not allow it.
