Kevin Colley, ECHL Coach, Throws Sticks During In-Game Tantrum

Filed under:

Every once in a while, we hear a story from minor-league sports about a coach who just loses it. In baseball, this can involve a manager kicking dirt and throwing bases. In hockey, sticks (and, apparently, neckties) are usually the victim.

A good example came last March, when Abbotsford (AHL) coach Jim Playfair went ballistic. His tie also ended up seeing better days.

The latest minor-league temper tantrum happened Saturday in West Valley City, Utah, where the ECHL's Utah Grizzlies were hosting the Stockton Thunder. Coach Kevin Colley wasn't a big fan of referee Rich Looker's work, so he used some hockey sticks and his tie to make his point.
